What We Do

Our Focus

We help educators (PreK-12th Grade) gain access to works from differing backgrounds, so that students learn stories from many perspectives and viewpoints.

Materials

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
-Nelson Mandela

Your donations help teachers gain access to materials (novels, textbooks, artwork, and etc.) from underrepresented societal groups. Materials will focus on the author and the content of the stories.

Content

"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."
-African Proverb

Our long-term goal is to create an Open-Source portal for teachers to upload teaching materials for the content we provide.

Programs

"Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others."
-Booker T. Washington

Other long-term goals include helping fund programs that teach equality and diversity. We're thinking grants for educational field trips, after-school programs, scholarships, and etc.

Our
Timeline

Step 1: Generate Initial Funding
Funds are needed to "jump-start" our organization (website, legal, brand/presence) as well as build up inventory to fund projects. A GoFundMe will help build up an inventory of materials (mostly books).
Target Date: End of 2020

Step 2: Accept Application Proposals & Fund Projects
Through an application process, we'd like to send out materials to teachers on a need-basis during the next school year.
Target Date:  2020-2021 School Year

Step 3: Create Long-Term Sustainability Model
Create an online store, partner with other businesses, apply for grants, and create fundraising events to ensure the longevity of this project.
Target Date: Early 2021

Step 4: Create Open-Source Portal for Educators
Create an online tool for teachers to voluntarily upload original content (lesson plans, curriculum ideas, and etc.) for fellow educators.
Target Date: Summer 2021

Step 5: Fund Larger Community-Based Projects
A long-term goal of ours is to help fund, through grants, educational and extra-curricular experiences directly related to our cause. We'd also like to create a Scholarship Fund.
Target Date: 2021-2022 School Year
